New Word: Schnuck
I've decided I'd like to create a word, because I've racked my little brain and I can't think of another word for it. And lately, in my life, this word is a constant. I can't go five minutes in the morning without having a need to use it, experience it, or witness it.
The word is:
schnuck
–noun
1. The crusty streak of snot featured on the shoulders of parents, or caregivers of toddlers; usually accompanied by schnucks on the opposite shoulder, or on nearby furniture and/or glass surfaces. (See exhibit A.)
[Origin: Derived from word(s) snot, streak, schmuck, guck, and yuck.]
I'm not aware of the existence of any other word that describes what I'm trying to describe here... So if anyone out there is aware of a word used currently, please set me straight. Otherwise, I hope to get some credit on Wikipedia and the next version of Oxford's English Dictionary...

Ooooh, Schnuck....
How does that differ from your previously used Schmutz?
Is Schnuck comprised of ONLY snot?
Whereas Schmutz is any strange, foreign substance smeared on your person/furniture?

That is a great new word, and I plan to adopt it immediately (which is timely, since I think I'm sporting some schnuck right now).

Oh, wonderful! I'm reading this latest entry an hour before I come over to take care of Niko while you go "god knows where." I suppose you want to venture out into a schnuck-free world for a while.
You notice I said I was coming over there and NOT bringing that mucus-machine back here. No schnuck allowed.
Oh, poop, I forgot he's coming over for cake tonight. I'll get the plastic wrap out right now.

We call this "gonk" in my house. "Aw, man. The kid gonked me. I gotta change my shirt." Is that food on your shoulder? "No, it's gonk. Dang."
